Back in 2020, when the pandemic hit and everything went wild, our founders, Veronica and Mario, faced some tough times. Veronica lost her job at Gulfstream, and suddenly, they were at a crossroads. But giving up? That's not how we roll. Instead, they dove headfirst into an entrepreneurial spirit, selling authentic Mexican food straight out of their car at construction sites. They even used a soccer league to make extra cash. Talk about hustle!
All that hard work and seriously delicious food quickly got noticed. What began as a mobile dream soon found a temporary home in Smiley's, where they kept everyone happy on weekends. Then came the big break, totally out of the blue, at a gas station. A simple conversation led to an unbelievable offer: a whole restaurant space!
From those humble beginnings, Tacos & Mariscos Ofelia has blossomed into the cherished, independent, and family-run spot you love today. Our journey was powered by Veronica and Mario's shared vision, and the huge motivation of providing for their six amazing children – a force that pushed them to "keep fighting" and create something truly special.
